Hot on the heels of a $180-million transformation, Tropicana Las Vegas is opening its freshly painted doors to a new generation of clientele with this week's Escape, a one-night stay for two, Sundays through Thursdays ($220) or Fridays and Saturdays ($320).

This ain't your mama's Vegas: The newly revamped Tropicana has drawn the likes of Rihanna and Britney for recent events. "Gone is the faded and dusty tropical theme," says Frommer's, "replaced with a bright, white-and-orange South Beach theme. New carpets, marble, gaming tables, and slots liven up the casino by about a million percent with a sunny vibe. Just about the only thing [that didn't get] a makeover is the parking structure."

Your fiery foray is underway as soon as you skip the lines with VIP priority check-in immediately upon arrival. This Sin City resort now features modern rooms, three gourmet restaurants, and the hottest night club this side of the sun.

Be warned, though, that you may not feel like leaving your Deluxe Room, stocked with luxury amenities like custom organic furnishings, 42-inch HDTVs, views of the award-winning pool, and 300-thread-count linens atop what have been called the most comfortable beds in the city.

Join your hot date for a cold one (your Escape includes two drink credits per guest) at a bar of your choice in the casino, where you'll go all-in with table games, slot machines, a state-of-the-art sports book, and the brand new Jamie Gold Poker Room.

Ride the heat wave well into the night when you catch a headlining act with your two included VIP entertainment show tickets. Opt for the Las Vegas Mob Experience, chronicling the thrills and chills of organized crime like never before with an interactive exhibit that recreates scenes from the city's infamous mafia past.
