Whether you're in the Mission or on Polk Street, you've dealt with more concrete congestion than any amount of beer, wine, and late-night tacos can remedy. Don't feel like you're up an existential creek; let this Adventure be the paddle that glides you to happier, more open spaces with a 90-minute day- or night-game kayaking tour of McCovey Cove, plus a burrito meal.
We'll gather by AT&T Park at Pier 40 in South Beach Harbor, where our team of nautical navigators will be on hand to help guide us through the water. Upon arrival we'll collect our gear—kayak, paddle, life vest, and seat—and sit down for an orientation taught by the good folks of City Kayak. Then, it's off to the still-chilled late spring waters of McCovey Cove. We'll have the opportunity to take in the spanning vistas of Mission Creek and, most importantly, bobble our vessels outside of the ballpark where we can listen to the game and try to catch a Splash Hit.
With our appetites for open spaces sated—and hopefully a Pablo Sandoval ball in someone's pocket—we'll head back to shore, retire our vessels, and head up the dock where a burrito spread will be waiting for us courtesy of The Iron Cactus. We'll dine on our choice of a veggie, chicken, or steak burrito with beans, rice, guacamole, and pico de gallo. Chips and salsa complete the lineup and we'll wash it all down with a drink. Once we've downed the last burrito, we'll head our separate ways: Whether that's a walk or a slide home is yet to be determined.
