Up a metaphorical creek, with no fun plans on the horizon? Consider this Adventure your paddle: two hours of kayaking on the Delaware River followed by a winery tour and wine tasting, with round-trip transportation included.
Head to 3011 John F. Kennedy Boulevard (right outside of 30th Street Station), where we'll be greeted by our Adventures team, who'll usher us onto a bus for the 90-minute ride to Bucks County River Country. After some brief instruction on kayaking safety, we'll sink into our kayaks (choose a single for $69 or a tandem for $138) and enjoy the gentle waves of the river as we take in some stunning Bucks County vistas.
After about two hours, we'll disembark and change into dry clothes to enjoy a riverside BYO picnic lunch. Next on the agenda: a tour of Sand Castle Winery—a truly stunning estate where all the wines are made from the on-site Vinifera grapes. After we've seen the lay of the land, we'll enjoy a tasting of ten seasonal wines, along with bite-size pairings (think: chocolate chips, cashews, and wasabi peas) that bring out the unique flavors in our glasses, which we'll then get to take home as souvenirs. As official oenophiles, we'll re-board the bus back to Center City. Looks like it might be time to start paddling...
