With March Madness behind us and college football season a few months away, it might be time to treat your palate to something a bit more in-depth than your game-day beer. Let some stellar Atlanta-brewed suds tickle your taste buds with this peripatetic Adventure: beer samplings, take-home gifts, and food tastings at four brew hubs in Atlanta, including transportation.
We'll gather at Red Brick Brewing Company at 2323 Defoor Hills Road, where our band of sauntering suds masters will give us each a souvenir beer glass, which we'll use for our tastings. There, we'll meet the makers of this spot's IPAs, porters, and lemon-barley blondes, who will give us the 411 on the origin of their ingredients and the perks of producing beer on a smaller scale. As we listen, we'll get to sample four 6-ounce pours. Once we're ready to move on, we'll board our luxury coach bus from Hennessy Transportation—our transportation for the tour.
Our next tour stop will be at Der Biergarten, where we'll nosh on guten eats, such as soft pretzels, Reuben sliders, and a meat-and-cheese plate, all paired with three four-ounce beer samples. Following that sampling, we'll make our way over to the Wrecking Bar Brewpub and enjoy a brewery tour with more beer and bites, including a cheese plate, croquet with hot barbecue sauce, barbecue shrimp, and duck confit with jam. We'll finish our tour at The Beer Growler where we'll learn about—what else?—growlers and how these large jugs can alter the taste of beer. A 32-ounce growler filled with beer will be our parting gift—the perfect sudsy end to the evening brew-haha.
