We all know which spirit we like to drink with our Mexican food, but we really can't afford tequila so many brain cells every time we get a taco craving. Here's an Adventure that will help us master the art of Mexican cookery with a hands-on tamale cooking class and wine tasting.
Meet our eclectically taste-budded team at Project One Gallery at 251 Rhode Island Street, where we'll be greeted with a warm tamale, along with chips and salsa to prep our palates for class. We'll also receive our first taste of wine from a curated selection of three wines, and throughout class we'll get the chance to sip on tastes of wine, as well as a full glass of our favorite.
As we settle in, we'll turn our attention to Mari of Spanglish Arte. Mari will take us through a hands-on lesson in constructing a perfect tamale. There will also be a variety of ingredients on hand for us to customize our own. After we prepare a dozen ready-to-take-home tamales, we'll get the chance to meander through the gallery and take in pieces of local street art adorning the walls. By evening's end, we'll head home with some new knowledge, new friends, and a dozen tamales to heat up and eat at home—how's that for an evening to tickle your fancy as well as your taste buds?
