If you're a fine six-shooter who fancies the occasional six-pack then line up this Adventure in your crosshairs: an evening of shooting ten rounds on five different guns followed by drinks and Mexican delights.
The festivities begin at Quickshot Shooting Range near the Sage Hill Shopping Center, where we'll meet the Adventures team who know not to confuse a holster for a beer koozie. After receiving our ear and eye protection, we'll go through an essential safety tutorial, and then put on our best straight-shootin' faces as we take aim and fire ten rounds on each of the following firearms: .22, .38, 9mm, and .40 caliber weapons, and an AR-15 or AK-47.
With our hearts rushing faster than a barrage of bullets, we'll calm the nerves with a robust meal catered by Sol Catering, a top-notch Mexican cuisine vendor that has received mucho raves from Atlanta Magazine and Bon Appétit. We'll chow down on two tacos made with mesquite smoked brisket or pesto chicken, and for the vegetarians, a mixed mushroom, chili, and roasted peppers combination. The two tacos will come with black beans, rice, chips, and salsa. For dessert, the Quickshot staff will have freshly baked cookies waiting for us.
With our bellies full and ballistics intake satisfied, it's time to get our drink on. We'll enjoy two pints of local brews at D.B.A. Barbecue, a focal point for great barbecue in Virginia Highlands. A day of popping caps and sipping on taps? We can't think of any experience more on target.
