If your late summer itinerary is low on marquee events, come up for air and grab a new set of gills for this fin-tastic Adventure featuring sushi making and sake tasting.
We'll assemble at Wasabi Japanese Restaurant, located on 903 South Street in Minneapolis, where our uni-versally beloved team will be on hand to make sure things go swimmingly. Upon greeting our hosts, we'll make a toast for good tidings with an introductory Momokawa Organic Ginjo Nigori cocktail paired with edamame.
We'll then gather around the sushi assembly area, collecting tips on how to suss out the good fish from the bad, prepare rice effectively, and how to add ingredients to create the perfect roll. First up will be the California roll, paired with Yoshi no Gawa sake. Our hosts will explain the fundamentals of sake making and flavor profile of the drink, as well, paying particular attention to fermenting standards and the history of this fermented grain. Then we'll prepare and sink into an Alaskan hand roll—salmon, avocado, and cucumber—paired with Mighty Peak sake. Our final creation to enjoy will be a crunchy roll, consisting of shrimp tempura and avocado on the inside and tempura flake on the outside, and the Field Crane sake. And to top of the savory side of our meal, we'll dive into an ice cream ensemble with infused sake.
As token gifts, we'll wrap up the night with a souvenir LivingSocial sake cup and a sushi-rolling mat—ideal for keeping the rest of the summer's fun-level above water.
