Pigskin has a virtual monopoly over autumn in Philadelphia, so it stands to reason the rest of the animal would fare just as well. Pig out on a plethora of porcine pleasures—and toss back some tasty German beer while you're at it—with this seasonal Adventure: entry to Porktoberfest: an Oktoberfest-themed afternoon filled with all-you-can-eat pork barbecue, live music courtesy of CTO Entertainment, games, and more.
We'll start by heading to The Ugly Moose and Deke's Bar-B-Que in Roxborough, where our LivingSocial pork posse will be waiting to check us in. From there, we'll head into the open-air lot adjacent to the two restaurants for a three-hour barbecue that'll have us living high on the hog. There will be a tent, endless picnic tables, great parking lot games, and, of course, beer. We'll each get a complimentary pint, and additional drafts, spirits, and cocktails will be available for purchase from the Victory Brewing Beer Truck and the on-site cash bar.
When we're ready to belly up to the trough, an all-you-can-eat buffet of finger-licking pulled pork, local artisanal pork sausage, and seasonal sides (including potato salad, sauerkraut, pickles, and more) will be piled high throughout the event. Football will always rule fall in Philly, but thanks to this Adventure, food, friends, and fatback won't be far behind.
