With a firm farm-to-table tradition and a burgeoning brigade of cutting-edge chefs, Atlanta's status as a powerhouse of fine food is no secret—but that doesn't mean our entire menu is an open book. Revel in an under-the-radar dining experience with this clandestine culinary Adventure: a pop-up five-course dinner under a hip Atlanta restaurant from Top Chef contestant Chef Eli Kirshtein, complete with local craft beer pairings from SweetWater Brewing Company.
We'll start by heading to Pizzeria Vesuvius & Speakeasy to get checked in -- be sure to make a reservation for the 6 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. seating (early birds are welcome to drink discreetly at the speakeasy bar). We'll then head down to a secret basement under the restaurant, where we'll sit down in a simply but tastefully decorated private dining area with exposed rafters and an open, rustic feel. Once we're settled in, Chef Eli will greet us and describe the evening's menu, based entirely on the fresh and seasonal ingredients available at the market that week. We'll also have a chance to personally meet the chef and ask any lingering questions.
Just when we can't keep our hunger under wraps any longer, we'll begin our meal: a five-course dinner with beer pairings specially selected by the experienced pros at SweetWater Brewing Company, Georgia's largest craft brewery. After we've savored every last morsel, we'll surface for an after-dinner reception back upstairs at the speakeasy. It all adds up to an undercover Adventure where the details are hush-hush—and the food is out of sight.
