It's a straight line from the U.S. Capitol through the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial, but we're always looking for new angles on DC's inspiring landmarks. Take a tour on two wheels—and lean into the sites (and tastes) of our nation's capital while you're at it—with this angular Adventure: a two-hour sunset Segway tour of DC, followed by a private three-course dinner at Founding Farmers.
We'll start by heading to City Segway Tours, where our high-grade gang of guides will be waiting to check us in. Next, we'll hop aboard our two-wheeled tilt-mobiles for a sunset Segway tour of some of Washington's most famous sites, including stops along the National Mall, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Washington Monument. We'll also roll past the White House, the World War II Memorial, the Old Executive Office Building, and more—all with the early autumn sun angling low over the horizon.
Once we've been fully oriented to the city sites, we'll leave our Segways behind and head to Founding Farmers—Washington's premier restaurant for locally sourced food—for a three-course, prix fixe dinner in the restaurant's private dining area. Shareable small plates (e.g., skillet corn bread, fried green tomatoes, bacon lollipops), will be followed by a choice of entrée (e.g., southern pan-fried chicken, farmer's meatloaf, cedar plank salmon, polenta with roasted peppers and eggplant) and a family-style dessert (red velvet cake, seasonal cobbler, Farmer Marcy's carrot cake). We'll be able to choose our entrée upon arriving at the restaurant and adult beverages will also be available for purchase to enjoy during our decadent meal. If you're inclined to get a new take on the old DC stand-bys, take it from us: This Adventure is straight-up awesome.
