You work hard all week to bring home the bacon, only to let it sit in your savings account while you spend another weekend at home pinching pennies. If you've been waiting for a reason to put your fat stacks to good use, go hog wild with this money Adventure: a bacon-and-beer dinner tour through downtown Philly, with bacon-inspired dishes and craft beer pairings at three awesome restaurants along South Street.
We'll start by heading to the Village Belle, where our top-dollar team will be waiting to check us in and show us to the bar, where there will be a happy hour with drink specials. At 6 p.m., half of the group will change venues and pay a visit to to nearby Ela, while the other half stays put at Village Belle. Next, each group will enjoy the evening's first bacon-and-beer pairing, featuring a bacon-inspired dish along with a 6-ounce glass of craft beer, before we exchange places and dig into pairing number two.
After the first two rounds are spent, we'll all meet up at Brauhaus Schmitz, an authentic German bierhaus and the last stop on our tour. Once there, we'll enjoy one final dish-and-beer pairing before we cash in on dessert (a bacon-and-chocolate-chip cookie and a mini beer-cake cupcake) courtesy of Cookie Confidential and Beer Cakes Philly. If you're sick of salting away your money while you miss out on all the fun, trust us: This is one Adventure you can take straight to the (piggy) bank.
