Portland Paddle is proud to offer sea kayak rentals, guided trips, and lessons at the East End Beach on Portland's waterfront, making it easy for guests ages 7 and older to enjoy the aquatic experiences they crave on Casco Bay:

• $27 ($55 value) for a four-hour tour of Casco Bay
• $24 ($48 value) for a three-hour Intro to Sea Kayaking class
• $22 ($45 value) for a two-hour Intro to Stand-Up Paddleboarding class

The kayaking tour of Casco Bay is offered from 9 a.m. 'til 1 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. After a quick lesson on the basics of sea kayaking, you and your guide will venture out into the islands of Casco Bay in search of wildlife like seals and seabirds while enjoying some of the bay's most interesting landmarks. Tours include a stop on one of the islands to rest, relax, and enjoy a provided snack.

The Intro to Sea Kayaking classes are held from 9:30 a.m. 'til 12:30 p.m. every Saturday. Each three-hour course will teach students all the basics of sea kayaking, leaving them ready to kayak safely on protected seas with other paddlers. Sessions start on the shore with a brief talk about boats and gear, and then progress to fitting kayaks and heading onto the water to learn the essential strokes of the sport. Next, enjoy a brief paddle around the bay, during which you'll practice strategies for safe paddling in open waters.

The Intro to Stand-Up Paddleboarding classes run from 8:30 'til 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Each two-hour course teaches students the basics of stand-up paddleboarding, a sport that's great both for exploring waterways and getting a core workout. Sessions begin on the shore, where students will learn proper paddle grip, paddling posture, and techniques for getting on and off a SUP. Once on the water, classes cover board balance and strokes that help you move swiftly and maneuver effectively. Finally, students will go for a brief paddle to practice all of the course's lessons.
