Filling Up the Southwest's Stages
Though the Southwest thrives with culture, director and set designer Leslie Joy Coleman saw that when it came to theatre arts, our region was lacking. Aiming to bring this inspiring art form to the Southwest, she and other passionate play-goers formed the Southwest Rural Theatre Project in 2011. This year, the organization's performance lineup focuses on love -- featuring a mix of modern and classic performances, as well as plays written by locals. With plenty of passion for community and art in every performance, we'd give this group of theatre-lovers a standing ovation.
