Located on Annunciation Street in a circa-1914 firehouse with authentic cobblestone floors and high ceilings, Dijon Restaurant is a more than a restaurant; it's an experience -- so it's no wonder that Fodor's named it one of 7 Restaurants to Watch in NOLA.
• $45 ($90 value) for a three-course meal for two
• Diners give rave reviews on OpenTable, Urbanspoon, and TripAdvisor
• Executive chef Daniel Causgrove joined Dijon last fall, introducing a new, updated menu
• First course, crawfish boudin balls or fried oyster salad; second course, grilled hanger steak or Gulf fish of the day; third course, chocolate mousse or coffee and chicory crème brûlée
Modern Cuisine in a Quaint Historic Setting
Owner Kurt Brodtmann explains that maintaining much of the building's original structure was very important. "It is what New Orleans is," he says. "The fact that we did preserve our history and our heritage... is part of what makes this town what it is." And while the food is anything but old-fashioned, the menu -- which changes seasonally -- features nods to N'awlins, too, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and both French and Creole influences.
