Sample Award-Winning Pours, Just an Hour Outside Tucson
Founded by Dr. Gordon Dutt, a retired University of Arizona soil scientist, each granule of this gorgeous vineyard has been carefully studied and treated to produce high-quality pinot noirs, merlots, cabernet sauvignons, and more. This winery -- now operated by Dr. Dutt's granddaughter, Lori -- pours out one-of-a-kind wines like "Angel Wings," based on mission grapes with hints of nectarine and apple; or MeCaSah, a blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and syrah that boasts a bright fruit flavors and an oaky finish. Sonoita is our state's oldest commercial vineyard and winery, and has won numerous The Arizona Republic Wine Competition awards for top-notch pours such as its Sparkles Peach dessert wine and its Cochise County Colombard.
