The New York Times dedicates so much of its front page to world affairs, it can be daunting digging through the news to uncover the paper's delicious side. Fortunately, today's deal features a place that earned rare praise from the Gotham rag: Bombay Club of Westport is offering $15 for $30 worth of food and drink. Enjoy a starter, like the Tamarind eggplant, a "tart and tangy pleasure," or the larger and "superlative" Aunt Murli's chingri malai -- jumbo shrimp, raisins, and ginger in a thick, semi-sweet tomato and coconut sauce. All entrées come with Brick Lane-style condiments that add extra vigor to the dishes -- think: mango-pineapple chutney, lemon pickles, lentils, and cilantro chutney. Martha Stewart even has a favorite dish here, the Bindi Masala with tossed okra, onions, bell peppers, fenugreek, and ginger. It's a deal with all the taste that's fit to eat.
