Recently featured on the cover of 5280 as one of the magazine's Best New Restaurants, Le Grand offers a crash course in one culinary-minded region with a Bordeaux-focused five-course meal with wine pairings on April 5 at 6 p.m. ($100). Gratuity and all other fees are included.
You'll be seated in the elegant Les Halles banquet room, where the ceilings are arched and retro French advertising paintings cover the walls. The menu, created exclusively for this LivingSocial Gourmet dinner, will start with frog legs with mushrooms and white wine sauce, as well as a sampling of Kubler absinthe. Next, scoop up creamed snails with melted leeks and crispy shallots before indulging in foie gras with bruleed apples and a sourdough crumble. As an entrée, tuck into a warming white bean cassoulet with braised lamb and house-cured bacon lardons, paired with a Château Bellevue Bordeaux Supérieur.
For dessert, cut into a candied brioche cake, washed down with a glass of Maison Nicolas Sauternes. It's a finish as sweet as an evening in the City of Lights; no passport required, and no jet lag included.
