Loved every minute of it! Andrew was very helpful and fun. He made us feel very welcomed and not nervous about it being our first time. He gave very clear instructions and guided us through every step. Can’t wait to go back and paint.

Andrew is Very Patient with first time potters!

Andrew was very thorough in his instruction, however, in the end, it was HIS piece, not mine. The only thing that was MINE, was the paint job, which we waited 2/3 weeks to do. If you visit his studio, ALL the pieces look exactly alike. If you want to paint them, you have to pay an extra $5 per piece, then wait another 2/3 weeks to pick up the final pieces. Yes, you get to take home 2 pieces, after about 6 weeks, but I would rather have a unique piece that I did, not one the instructor did with my hands...

Andrew provides a fun experience. You can be successful at making pieces and be as creative as you care to be. The class is short and reasonably priced. I always look forward to returning a creating another piece for my kitchen collection.

Great intro to get your hands in the clay. Very quick, but you walk away with 2 pieces (2 weeks later).

A Chat with Cafe Pottery
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Let loose at night! Busy days? Unlike other pottery studios, Cafe Pottery provides only one or two person lessons so you get the most out of your experience. During the class I demonstrate making a bowl and walk you through making two of your own.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
We walk you through the entire process of pottery making. Teaching technical terms and technique. All you need to bring is yourself. We provide everything else.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
It’s hard being a potter and making a living doing what you love. Cafe Pottery aims to provide a great experience for local communities while also employing clay lovers who are having a hard time making it on their own. Now more than ever we are needing to support local artists and buying local.
What do you love most about your job?
I love ceramics. Since the year 2000 when I took my first ceramics class in high school, I was hooked. Now, I enjoy sharing my passion with anyone willing to learn; children, adults, developmentally disabled… Even 2 year olds! I love seeing people create their first pots with me.
