San Diego, California: Electric Nightlife and Historical Attractions

San Diego’s sunny, comfortably warm weather and 70 miles of coastline have long attracted out-of-towners, but the city’s inland scene is no slouch, either. The Gaslamp Quarter is arguably the trendiest listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The area forms both the historic center of town and a hub of nightlife, with nearly 100 Victorian-era buildings occupied by high-end boutiques and gourmet restaurants.

A stroll through iconic Balboa Park takes you past 17 museums, as well as the world-famous San Diego Zoo. There’s also the vibrant Spanish Village Art Center, a living gallery where local artists produce pottery and oil paintings. In Old Town, shops in Mission-style stucco buildings sell colorful woven baskets and maracas. Nearby stands the Whaley House Museum, dubbed one of the Most Terrifying Places in America by the Travel Channel. Ghosts of former residents are said to inhabit the rooms, which are filled with Victorian furniture and eerie dolls.

The room was perfect! I loved the hospitality. The free waters were a life saver. My wife and I really enjoyed the cookies. The $10 Daily credit was awesome! The room was a bit small but I have no complaints. Stream pineapple helped us entertain ourselves at night. And we thoroughly enjoyed the naked experience. The robes were super soft and comfortable the bed and comforters were exceptional. 💯

Nice accommodations, we experienced great customer service. The bedding and comforters were soothing, we actually slept good. The hotel was located near spots that were within walking distance so we didn't need to pay for parking each time. We really enjoyed our stay and will book again in the future.

The hotel was great! Friendly service and staff, right in the heart of the Gaslamp distract. Room was cute fun amenities. However, the room we were in was next to the electrical room and lots of random noises from there. Overall good place to hold your stuff and lay your head.

I had a King bed and pull out sofa. The room was too small to have the sofa pulled out. I had to crawl over the sofa bed to use the bathroom during the night.
