Lutron Maestro Occupancy/Vacancy Sensors (White)
Tired of your kids forgetting to turn off their lights? Are your hands sometimes too full to flick the light switch on? If you said yes to both questions then this product is guaranteed to change your life. The Lutron Maestro Occupancy/Vacancy Sensor in a fashionable white, is every homeowners dream. You won't be able to believe how you were able to manage before the Maestro Sensor came into your life. The Sensor is ideal for large rooms such as garages, basements and living rooms.
No more turning on and off light switches or having to run back to your house to check if all the lights are off. This Sensor turns on the light when you enter a room and turns them off after you leave. You can program the Occupancy/Vacancy Sensor to your own custom settings for optimal results. The settings include Timeout, Sensor Mode, and Motion Sensitivity Settings.
Timeout is the delay until the lights turn off after the room is vacated and there are different times that you can set the Sensor to. There is also a mode known as Test Mode which is a temporary, short timeout (less than 15-seconds) that can be used to test the sensor’s coverage. After entering test mode, the device will exit test mode automatically after 5 minutes, or when any button is pressed. If no motion is detected for more than 15 seconds, the light will turn off. If motion is detected, the light will turn on and continue to stay on for as long as motion is detected. The lens will flash periodically, indicating that motion has been detected.
Sensor Mode includes Vacancy Mode which means that you manually turn on the lights but the lights close automatically when the room is vacant, this is perfect for bedrooms, kids' rooms or rooms with pets where you don't want the lights to turn on whenever the sensor senses motion. There is also Daylight Sensing which is the mode in which the light turns on only if natural light in the room is low. If the switch turns on when there is enough natural light, or if the switch does not turn on when there is not enough natural light, press the On/Off button within 5 seconds of entering the room. Over time, this interaction will “teach” the switch your preferred setting.
Motion Sensitivity Settings features XCT Sensing Technology which detects fine motion such as turning a page so the lights won't turn off while you're reading, this is the Sensors default setting. You can change the sensing level of your Maestro Sensor from its default setting, high sensitivity to low sensitivity which detects only larger motions such as walking across the room.
The Maestro Occupancy/Vacancy Sensor can be used with 3-way or multi-location switches, has a maximum of 5 amps and requires ground wire. More specifically, the Sensor works with all bulb types, including incandescent, halogen, and electronic low voltage bulbs up to 600 watts; magnetic low voltage bulbs up to 200 watts; CFL and LED bulbs up to 150 watts; and 2 amp magnetic/electronic ballasts. It can also operate ceiling or exhaust fans up to 3 amps. No neutral wire required.
