We had a wonderful time!!! The crew was very knowledgeable about the area and the marine life that lived in the water. They made the non-swimmers/beginner swimmers feel very comfortable in the water as well. We even saw the dolphins that lived in the area. Well worth the money and will definitely choose Ocean Encounters again.

They are the BEST. My vacation was wonderful because of ocean encounters staff like Cher,Ruby, Lena and Neal. I was little nervous to get into water for snorkeling and Ruby and Cher literally hold my hand and helped my to snorkel with a happy face. They were really caring and professional. God bless them for showing me underwater life.♥️

We did the 3 hour mid-day snorkle trip. Our group went to 3 stops. The guides were friendly and fun. The water was so clear and it was such a great experience! If you easily get motion sick don't forget to take your meds. I highly recommend this adventure!

Had a great afternoon snorkeling tour with Ocean Encounters. It was a bit confusing at check in everyone just standing and waiting but once things got going and we got on the boat it was great. We stopped at 2 locations. Equipment was provided and drinks and snacks were a welcomed addition. The crew was very knowledgeable and courteous and made for a fun and relaxing afternoon!

About Ocean Encounters

En route to Honokohau Marina, tall and slender palm trees line the road, and white sails peak on the horizon. After a couple turns, the sapphire-blue Pacific appears, telling visitors they've made it to Ocean Encounters.

Once aboard the company's 46-foot boat, they find unimpeded views of Kona's calm waters on the upper deck and shade inside the cabin. But perhaps the most important feature of the vessel is its most nondescript: a sturdy swim step, which they use to climb into and out of the ocean on snorkeling tours.

During four-hour daytime trips, they get to swim with colorful schools of tropical fish and pods of spinner dolphins through the coral reefs of Kealakekua Bay. On evening trips, they venture farther from the coast to watch the sun set, then mingle with glowing manta rays in the sea.
