We loved our trip. The weather was perfect and seen 26 eagles and deer. I love the history they tell along the ride. We would definitely do it again!

Was a GREAT experience! Went on the 3 hour coach ride through the trough. Beautiful scenery. Got to see a few soaring eagles and buzzards :) Great history lesson about surrounding buildings and farms.with live on-board narration. Want to go again when fall follage changes.

We did the sunset ride on Sept 3rd. The atmosphere and workers were great. Our main complaint was 40 min of total darkness. We left at 6 with sunset at 7:45. Maybe a start time adjustment to account for daylight would make the return ride more enjoyable. A start of 5 or even 5:30 would have been great. Also the sunset part was misleading. We saw nice evening sky but not really any true sunset.

About Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad

Named for the bald eagles that line its path, the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad takes its passengers on a jaunty trip through America's gorgeous mountain state. The journey begins at Wappocomo Station, situated next to a charming homestead and a sprawling view of the mountains. Passengers enjoy the sounds of vintage diesels as they're led through beautiful pastures and farms dating back to the 1700s. As the train winds along the South Branch of the Potomac River, it enters a visually striking gorge known as The Trough. One of the most scenic spots along the South Branch, The Trough is home to American bald eagles.
