The Millennium Bostonian was was a very nice surprise. The staff was absolutely outstanding. Although our first room had a lovely view of the Northern part of the city, we had some minor problems with the thermostat and tv screen. When they couldn't be fixed quickly, the staff immediately upgraded us to another room with a balcony overlooking Faneuil Hall and the marketplace. We spent a lot of time on the balcony, watching the street performers and the listening to the musicians in the square below. However, when we closed the balcony doors, the sound was completely blocked out. For our trouble (which wasn't great - they helped us move and carry all our belongings), the staff also gave us certificates for a free breakfast in the hotel's fine-dining restaurant, North 26. The breakfast was perfectly delicious. The beds were very comfortable and we slept better than we usually do at home! I recommend using the hotel's valet service, as off-street parking in town is very difficult to find. We could actually see our vehicle in a gated area from our room, which was reassuring. The service is pricey, but we found it to be well-worth the cost (which was not much more than the parking garages that were close by). The staff was wonderful at suggesting great places to eat and things to do. Dinner in Little Italy was exquisite and the area was so beautiful and charming, we ended up walking around for hours after dinner just taking in the sights. The trolley tours are a must if you want to see lots of different areas of the city. Your ticket is good for two days, plus you can get on and off as you like and spend time at the stops that interest you. Our tickets even came with a free 45-minute Boston Harbor cruise, which was very nice. One of the things we were most impressed with was the cleanliness of the hotel and the cleanliness of the city in general. We had a wonderful trip, and would definitely stay at the Millennium Bostonian again!
pros: The hotel was central - within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. It had beautiful and unique features, like balconies with flower boxes. From our balcony on North St, we could see and hear the music and street performers at Quincy Market.
cons: We did not have free wi-fi - there was a charge to connect.
