The Destinations
Argentina packs a whole world of experiences into one gorgeous country. You can travel from the Patagonian peaks east through the low-lying pampas until you reach the shores of the Atlantic Ocean—all without leaving its borders.

The cosmopolitan capital of Buenos Aires cultivates an Old World panache otherwise unseen outside of Europe. Listen closely to the people gathered at flower-edged parks and sidewalk cafes and you might think you're in Italy. Not quite, but their Spanish dialect certainly sounds like it—nearly half of all Argentines have Italian ancestry. And like any South American city worth its salt, Buenos Aires hosts its fare share of pulsating tango salons and cacophonous outdoor markets.

Far beyond the city, the quiet and calm of the Argentine countryside takes hold. Shorthorn and Angus cattle graze silently on the endless pampas, its flatness stark against the white, craggy Andean peaks to the west.

Get in touch with a whole world of beauty, passion, and style with this eight-day tour of Buenos Aires and Bariloche or Iguazú, courtesy of Panorama Travel.

The Itinerary
day 1: Board an early-morning flight from New York City or Miami to Buenos Aires, via Aerolineas Argentina. Once you land in Buenos Aires, a driver will be waiting at the airport to take you to your hotel.
Overnight in a Standard Room at Amérian Buenos Aires Park Hotel.

day 2: Today, you'll embark on a three-hour guided tour of Buenos Aires. The route begins at the Plaza de Mayo and the "Pink House," home of Argentina's president and executive branch. You'll continue on toward Nueve de Julio Avenue until you reach Plaza de la República and the Obelisk, a national monument and symbol of Argentina. The next stop brings you to the San Telmo, one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city and a historic center of immigrant settlement.

South of San Telmo lies colorful port neighborhood of La Boca, famous for European-style architecture influenced by the Genoese sailors that arrived in the late 19th century. You'll visit the upscale districts of Puerto Madero and Palermo before arriving in Recoleta, the most posh neighborhood in Buenos Aires and the final resting place of Eva Perón. Beyond the cemetery, you'll visit the church of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, the Recoleta Cultural Center (a former convent), the Buenos Aires Design mall, and the exhibition center, Palais de Glace.
Overnight in a Standard Room at Amérian Buenos Aires Park Hotel. Breakfast provided.

day 3: In store for the evening is dinner and a tango show at El Querandí, a "tangueria"that has attracted a cultured crowd of writers, students, and artists since 1920. These days, El Querandí is considered one of the most magical corners of Buenos Aires.
Overnight in a Standard Room at Amérian Buenos Aires Park Hotel. Breakfast and dinner provided.

days 4 and 5: After two straight days of scheduled activities, you'll enjoy two days at leisure to explore the city as you please.
Two nights in a Standard Room at Amérian Buenos Aires Park Hotel. Daily breakfast provided.

day 6—Bariloche: Those who choose the Bariloche package will return to the Buenos Aires airport for a domestic flight to Bariloche.
Overnight in a Classic Room at Edelweiss Bariloche. Breakfast provided.

day 7—Bariloche: On your second day in Bariloche, you'll embark on a guided tour of the Bariloche small circuit. Begin by driving along the Nahuel Hiapi lakeshore to Campanario Hill, where you'll take the chairlift for stunning views of Nahuel Huapi and Moreno lakes, El Trébol lagoon, San Pedro, Victoria Island, and other landmarks. The route continues to Llao Llao Peninsula, crossing the Angostura River to Panoramic Point, and then returning back to the hotel.
Overnight in a Classic Room at Edelweiss Bariloche. Breakfast provided.

day 6—Iguazú: Those who choose the Iguazú package will return to the Buenos Aires airport for a domestic flight to Iguazú.

day 7—Iguazú: Your second day in Iguazú is devoted to a guided tour of Iguazú Falls on the Argentina side of Iguazú National Park. The falls were recently named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and for good reason—when Eleanor Roosevelt first saw them, she reportedly exclaimed "Poor Niagara!"
Overnight in a Standard Room at Amérian Portal del Iguazú Hotel. Breakfast provided.

day 8: Bid farewell to Argentina before boarding a plane back to Buenos Aires, where you'll catch your return flight to the US.
Breakfast provided.

  • "It’s an elegant, seductive place with a ragged edge, laced with Old-World languor and yet full of contemporary attitude. BA is somehow strangely familiar, but unlike any other city in the world."
