Nepal's most famous mountains are just waiting for you to explore them—and you'll cover more ground on bike.

The Destination
Most travelers aren't strangers to Nepal's swatch of the Himalayas: The majestic mountains have been gracing the covers of travel magazines for decades. But no number of glossy photos can capture the way the icy blue peaks warm to brilliant gold when you're perched atop Poon Hill at sunrise.

Make your way from the stupa-studded squares and vibrant alleys of Kathmandu to the Annapurna Sanctuary, a high-altitude combination of pristine forests and snow-capped peaks near Nepal's northern border. On your biking trip, you'll ascend through terraced mustard fields and rhododendron forests to an altitude of more than 12,000 feet. Around each bend in the trail, discover spectacular vistas of some of the Himalayan range's most famous mountains: Annapurna South, Annapurna I, and Machhapuchhre. Cozy tea houses adorned in prayer flags provide trekkers respite on the trail.

A gradual descent past waterfalls and white-faced langur monkeys brings you ultimately to Pokhara, a lakeside town perfect for celebratory beers and apple pie. This 10-day Himalayan Downhill Expedition from OneSeed Expeditions to Nepal's most spectacular sanctuary is bound to leave you breathless—and not just because of the altitude.

The Itinerary
All itineraries are subject to change based on local conditions and the judgment of the guide.

day 1: Once you arrive in Nepal, a OneSeed staff member will greet you at Kathmandu's international airport and take you to the OneSeed partner lodge in the ancient city of Patan, situated in the Kathmandu Valley. Catch up on some shut-eye and venture out for dinner on your own.
Overnight at Newa Chen, The Yellow House, or Summerhill House in Kathmandu.

day 2: Begin your biking adventure in Shivapuri National Park in Bhudanilkhanta, where you'll ride 23 miles on single track and jeep trails in the jungle. Return to Kathmandu for the night and enjoy a hearty welcome dinner with your fellow cyclists.
Overnight at Newa Chen, The Yellow House, or Summerhill House in Kathmandu. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided.

day 3: Take a bus to the beautiful city of Pokhara and check in at Mum's Garden, where guests stay in beautiful cottages made of hand-cut stone. Dine at the on-site Garden Cafe or head out to explore Pokhara. Meet up in the evening for a group briefing and gear check.

day 4: Take a morning flight to Jomsom Airport before hopping on your bikes and riding to the mountain towns of Kagbeni and Muktinath. After the 17-mile bike ride with an elevation gain of almost 4,000 feet, retire to the tea house for the night.

day 5: Leave Muktinath for the 21-mile bike ride to Marpha. The route has two options: a jeep track for intermediate riders and a single track for advanced riders. The ride is mostly downhill, so enjoy the breeze as you rush down through the valley. Retire for the night in Marpha, a town famous for its Mustang apples and apple brandy.
Overnight at a tea house. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided.

day 6: Continue the descent by following the river on jeep or single track trails. Today's ride is 30 miles but at midday, you'll stop for lunch at the beautiful waterfall in Rupse Chartra. Once in Tatopani, enjoy the hot springs before heading to bed.
Overnight at a tea house. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided.

day 7: In the morning, bike 14 miles to Beni, where you will take a jeep to Naudhadha. Head out to explore the beautiful city of Pokhara in the evening.
Overnight at Mum's Garden in Pokhara. Breakfast and lunch provided.

day 8: Rest your legs in Pokhara by spending the day by the lake and taking in the unbelievable views.
