From Paris to Barcelona, journey through age-old grandeur and the avant-garde for a diverse dissection of European aesthetic.

The Destination
Many dream of finding love amid the cobbled lanes and ancient cathedrals of Paris, but it's hard not to fall head over heels for the city itself. Home to more than two million people, France's capital is easily one of the most gorgeous destinations on earth. In a city designed for strolling, the shimmering surface of the Seine and beloved halls of the Louvre are as enchanting as exquisite aromas drifting from the cafés, bistros, brasseries, patisseries, and crêperies which beckon from every corner.

Travel more than 600 miles almost directly south to the shores of the Mediterranean, and you'll find whimsical Barcelona—a sanctuary for the avant-garde. This beach town metropolis is famous for morphing into a cutting-edge dance floor for late-night revelers. With an abundance of gothic architecture and a creative culture, Catalonia's capital by the sea has earned its position as the fourth-most visited city in Europe—not that Barcelona takes that stuff very seriously. Nope, all that really matters here is that the sun is shining and Barca is winning.

Take in the heights of human achievement and depth of architectural character at your own pace on this eight-day trip to the Continent, courtesy of go-today.

The Itinerary
day 1:
Depart from the US on your flight to Paris.

days 2 and 3:
Explore Paris at your own speed; whether Mona Lisa beckons you to the Louvre or the charming array of cafés and cinemas work their magnetic magic, you'll have time to experience it all. Nearby Métro stations provide easy access to anywhere in the city, allowing you to soak up the iconic sights or jump into The City of Light's diverse nightlife.
Two nights at the Hotel Meridional or similar. Daily buffet breakfast provided.

day 4:
Don't worry if you haven't gotten to any of the famous sights—on your last day in Paris, you'll have the option to leave in the morning, noon, or afternoon for a sightseeing tour of the city. Your bus will drive by Place Vendome, Palais Garnier, the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, Orsay Museum, Concorde Square, the Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, and Invalides Hotel. There's no stopping, but the impressive list of sights you'll see in less than two hours is sure to fill in any gaps leftover from your first two days. Recorded commentary and earphones are included.
Overnight at the Hotel Meridional or similar. Buffet breakfast provided.

day 5:
Bid Paris adieu and board your flight for Barcelona. Spend the afternoon introducing yourself to this bustling Mediterranean port.
Overnight at the Hotel Vilamari or similar. Buffet breakfast provided.

day 6:
Barcelona's celebrated cuisine, surreal architecture, and frenetic nightlife are yours to enjoy; wander the intricate streets of the Gothic Quarter, study the abstract attraction of one of the greatest 20th-century artists at the Picasso Museum, or while away an afternoon in one of the city's gorgeous parks as you revel in the deliciously temperate climate. You can also arrange day trips to the mountains or beaches of Catalonia to see a different side of this unique region.
Overnight at the Hotel Vilamari or similar. Buffet breakfast provided.

day 7:
Travel with ease throughout the city with a pass for a hop-on, hop-off bus tour of the city. Three different routes provide access to more than 44 points of interest, including iconic works from Antoni Gaudí like the fantastical Sagrada Familia and brightly colored Parque Güell. Hop off at any site that piques your interest, spend as much time there as you like, and hop back on to discover even more of this vibrant city.
