Part theater, part dance, part puppetry, the Khmer Arts Ensemble defies genre. Headed by McKnight International Fellow Sophiline Cheam Shapiro, this Cambodian performance group will stage the world premiere of "A Bend in the River." Set in a small Cambodian village, this tale of vengeance, consequence, and redemption is told with the help of 15 dancers, an orchestral ensemble of circle gongs and xylophones, and two intricately woven crocodile puppets.
