What you get

  • 2nd Annual Event at Millennium Harvest House
  • Tiki Ball + Pool Party Over Labor Day Weekend

You gaze wistfully at your longboard -- you won't be hanging ten in Boulder anytime soon. A least you can grab your grass skirt, pile into your woodie, and head for island culture with today's deal from the producers of the 1940s WWII Era Ball: Pay $18 ($37 value) for admission to Voodoo Island: 1950s Tiki Ball and Pool Party on Saturday, August 31 at Millennium Harvest House's outdoor pavilion and pool.

Festivities start swinging at 4 p.m. with live musical acts and performances throughout the day. Wiggle your hips with group hula classes, get low at the limbo bar, and dress up for the pinup swimsuit contest. Grab the food and drinks available for purchase and party with DJs in the Paradise Lounge until 2 a.m. No surfing is allowed in the pool (you wouldn't want to injure the live mermaid), but at this ball, life can still be a beach.

Mix one part mai tai and one part voodoo, add a splash of exotica music and a slice of historic Hawaii, and the result is a recent resurgence of all things tiki.
