Latin Rhythms Academy of Dance and Performance is Chicago's go-to spot for Latin dance styles. In its spacious 4,500 square-foot studio in Chicago’s West Loop, it hosts classes in all Latin styles of dance, such as salsa, mambo, cha cha, bachata, and kizomba. “Latin Rhythms is the premiere dance studio here in Chicago”, Monique Maldonado, Marketing & Venue Director of Latin Rhythms, explains.
Few activities bring people closer together than dancing, and few types of dance bring the dancers as close together as Latin dance. At Latin Rhythms, people can connect and express themselves through dance, and for its teachers nothing is more important than creating a sense of community and providing a common place for dancers to have fun and meet new people, while learning new moves.

Latin Rhythms faced a challenge that is common for small businesses: attracting new clients. “Of course, one of the main challenges is always getting new clientele,” Monique explains.
“For a very long time, we were just a word of mouth type of business, but after a while that only goes so far. So we knew that we needed to take up our marketing a notch.” At that point, they realized that while their strong community and great dance programs kept regulars coming back, they needed to do more to reach a wider audience. To overcome this, Latin Rhythms needed a more effective marketing strategy to expand its reach and bring in new faces.
Turning to Groupon proved to be a game-changer for Latin Rhythms. The studio quickly saw a surge in new customers.
"We definitely saw the results right away," Monique notes. “As soon as we started using Groupon in our offering, we got over 100 new customers each month just with Groupon.”
These new customers brought by Groupon were immediately integrated into the studio's community and many of them became regular students. “We've definitely noticed that all of our new clients from Groupon have flown right in with our community. They have a good time and continue to come back and we're happy to have them,” Monique shares.
