Frequently Asked Questions

What if something goes wrong — is there a guarantee?

Contact Clearwater Marine Aquarium at 727-441-1790 first. If unresolved, Groupon's Buyer Guarantee covers you — contact Groupon support for a refund or credit. Not valid with promo codes.

Is this Groupon deal legitimate / officially partnered with the aquarium?

Yes — Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a direct Groupon partner. Your voucher is validated at the entrance. Over 35,000 Groupon vouchers have been redeemed successfully at this location.

Is CMA a full aquarium or more of a rescue center?

It's primarily a marine rescue and rehabilitation center — not a traditional large-scale aquarium. You'll see rescued dolphins, sea turtles, otters, seals, sharks, stingrays, plus the Tales of Winter memorial. If you want hundreds of fish species in tanks, this may not match expectations. If you want an intimate, educational marine rescue experience, it's excellent.

Is Winter the Dolphin still there?

Winter passed away in November 2021. The aquarium now runs the Tales of Winter memorial exhibit — her real prosthetic tails, memorabilia, and full story. The dolphin pod today includes Izzy and other rescued residents, equally worth meeting.

Is the aquarium accessible with a stroller or wheelchair?

Most main exhibits are accessible. Some areas involve ramps and outdoor paths. Elevators have occasionally been reported out of service — call 727-441-1790 ahead if accessibility is a concern.

What about outdoor exhibits on a hot Florida day?

Several exhibits are outdoors. Arrive before 11am or after 3pm for comfort. Bring water and sunscreen. Indoor climate-controlled areas include the Tales of Winter memorial and several main halls.

What's the cost of parking?

Parking is not included. On-site and nearby lots charge approximately $15. Factor this into your budget when planning your visit.
