About Ferris Fest

"Life moves pretty fast."

You can say that again, Ferris. On June 11, 1986, Ferris Bueller's Day Off hit big screens across the country. At the end of the film, a fresh-faced Matthew Broderick famously stared directly at viewers and warned them about the sneaky passage of time. Now, 30 years later, Ferris Bueller is set to run rampant across Chicago yet again during the first-ever Ferris Fest.

The celebration, created by a small contingent of diehard Ferris fans, will honor the film's 30th anniversary with three full days of Ferris-themed activities—right down to a parade through downtown Chicago. Here are just a few of the events scheduled to go down:

An immersive re-creation of Ferris' bedroom, meticulously put together by Toronto-based artist Sarah Keenlyside, welcomes attendees to step inside Ferris's world. The 360-degree re-creation features everything from Ferris's bulky IBM computer to retro Pepsi cans.

Parade: To relive what is perhaps the film's most memorable scene, Ferris Fest takes over downtown Chicago with a Twist and Shout parade to punctuate the weekend's festivities.
