Day 1 Depart the U.S. ✈ — Board your overnight flight to Edinburgh (EDI), Scotland.
Day 2 Welcome to Edinburgh, Scotland! — Arrive in Edinburgh, collect your rental car, and check in to your first Scottish Bed & Breakfast of your choosing. Consider staying near Edinburgh for your first night so you can explore Holyrood Palace, Princes Street Gardens, Arthur’s Seat, Old Town, and the historic Edinburgh Castle.
Day 3 Scottish Bed & Breakfast — Head west to Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, known for its shopping, music, and art. Highlights include the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Pollok Country Park, Buchanan Street, and the Necropolis.
Day 4 Scottish Bed & Breakfast — Drive north to Inverness, stopping in Perth, Dundee, or St. Andrews along the way. Explore the River Ness, Fort George, and the area’s castles and museums — and keep an eye out for “Nessie” at Loch Ness.
Day 5 Edinburgh – Dublin, Ireland ✈ — Fly from Edinburgh to Dublin, collect your rental car at Dublin Airport, and check in to your first Irish Bed & Breakfast. Stay near Dublin for your first night, or head to the old city of Drogheda just north, or the Wicklow Mountains National Park just south.
Day 6 Ireland Bed & Breakfast — Drive to Killarney for the Ring of Kerry, Muckross Lake, and Lough Leane in Killarney National Park — or explore colorful Cork, with its English Market, St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral, and nearby Cobh Harbour.
Day 7 Ireland Bed & Breakfast — Visit Waterford, Ireland’s oldest city, with its pedestrian-friendly streets, traditional pubs, and the famous House of Waterford Crystal. The Viking Triangle, Comeragh Drive, and Waterford Greenway are all worth a stop.
