  • Flights: Roundtrip flights are in basic/economy cabin class. Number of connections and layover duration vary by departure city and carrier. Baggage policies will be advised at time of redemption; fees for checked and carry-on bags may apply.
  • Currency & Language: The local currency is the Costa Rican Colón (CRC). Spanish is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.
  • Age Requirements: Minimum travel age is 21. Minimum age to check into hotels is 21. Children aged 12 and under may pay a reduced rate.
  • Solo Travel: A solo travel supplement applies: $249 for departures through November 30, 2026, and $409 for departures from December 1, 2026, through 2027.
  • Additional Notes: An underage rental surcharge applies for drivers under 23 years old.
Cancellation Policy

Your Groupon voucher is refundable until deal expiration date ("Book by" date) or until you complete your booking on the Travel By Jen page and submit your voucher code. Once your booking is submitted and confirmed, it becomes non-refundable through Groupon, and all further changes are subject to the merchant's cancellation policy. See the FAQs section for detail.

    Purchase your voucher — one per person (2 or more). Pricing is based on 2 travelers sharing a room; solo travel is in most cases available for an additional fee.

  2. Make Your Booking

    Contact Travel by Jen at (800) 603-3178 Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET. Please have the following details on hand: voucher #, credit card information, as well as name and date of birth as they appear on passports for all passengers.

  3. Receive Booking Confirmation

    Present voucher and credit card at check-in arrival.

  4. Enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Does buying a Groupon voucher mean my trip is booked?

No — purchasing the voucher does not book your trip. The voucher entitles you to book a 'Limited Time Offer' vacation package at a Groupon-discounted rate. After buying, follow the steps in "How To Book" as soon as possible to secure your preferred dates.

Are all travel dates available at the Groupon price?

Not all dates are offered at the Groupon rate. Check the Travel By Jen special offers page to see eligible dates. If your preferred date isn't available at the Groupon price, you may need to pay the difference at TBJ's checkout or adjust your travel dates. Blackout dates: December 15, 2026 – January 10, 2027.

Are meals included in this package?

This package does not include meals. Guests are responsible for their own dining arrangements.

What kind of rental car is included?

This package includes an automatic economy rental car. Please note that mandatory car insurance and a credit card deposit are required at pickup.

What are the baggage policies for flights?
