About Island Camps
Every day for the past 20 years, the team of adventurers at Island Camps has heard the call of the ocean's cresting waves. They've answered with a full slate of surfing and standup paddleboarding lessons and day camps geared toward beginners who might be hearing that call for the first time. Certified in first aid and lifeguard ocean rescue, they help students feel safe while instilling in them the skills needed to explore the wild blue yonder.
Since paddleboarding is easy to pick up, the team regularly leads newcomers on tours of the intercoastal waterways and Deerfield Island Park. During sunset and ecology tours, groups dip their paddles into cool waters while slipping past mangroves, wetland marshes, and the cave of the local sea lord. If you're looking for a more grounded experience, Island Camps also offers skateboarding lessons that teach basic skills and tricks such as the ollie.
