Contemporary hotel offers lots of open space (likely designed for the convention crowd). We enjoyed dinner in the bar on Friday night with the bonus of local live jazz music. Meals were ample: Steak Frites featured chunks of steak and roasted potato wedges; roast pork came on top of swiss chard and a rich polenta. Saturday's breakfast in the dining room offered cook to order eggs (including wonderful omelettes) and waffles in addition to the usual buffet items. Location is near a convention center and a couple of blocks away from the free downtown trolley. Only downsides: Reception representative didn't offer information, we had to pull it out of her. Parking garage is quite a ways from the hotel if you self-park. Some folks had breakfast included in their rates (waiter asked if we had a coupon).
pros: Modern decor, local jazz musicians in bar Friday and Saturday nights, outside fireplace, weekend breakfast buffet features wonderful omelettes.
cons: Check-in representative was matter-of-fact and did not offer infromation about the hotel, parking, restaurants. She did answer my questions, but I had to ask several questions to get oriented. Self-parking was a long hike!

Room was nice. Public areas fair: dark and a bit forbidding. Front desk staff were not very cordial except for one ladybwho appeared to be the manager (she stood hehind the staff). Hotel was quite a ew blocks away from the "action" and no map of area restaurants was available only directions by mouth given.
pros: Convenient
cons: Arrived at 1700 andcroom was not ready. Had to wait 15-20 for the key. No apologies offered. Went to supper outside of hotel and returned to smell similar to old fish in the hallway and later found used dishes outside the door (no room service ordered).

pros: Service from everyone that worked there was great. Breakfast buffet was very good. The location downtown is excellent.
cons: The room was small and not nearly as luxurious as we were expecting from essentially the only 4 star hotel in downtown Chattanooga. I think we may have gotten more for our money at one of the nearby chains.
