The Itinerary
Day 0: Fly to Egypt (Flight-Inclusive Packages Only)
• Flight inclusive packages will depart the USA today for an overnight flight to Egypt. If you book a land only package, then plan to arrive in Cairo at anytime tomorrow.

Day 1: Arrive into Cairo
• Upon arrival, meet your representative at the airport to transfer to your hotel
• Settle in and enjoy an introduction to the local area and go over tomorrow's arrangements
• Spend the rest of the day at your leisure
Overnight at Meridien Pyramids or similar

Day 2: Museum & Pyramids Tour in Cairo
• The tour of Egypt begins with a trip to the Egyptian Museum in central Cairo
• From the museum, head to Giza on the outskirts of Cairo to visit the Sphinx and the three great pyramids of Egypt
• You will have the opportunity to climb down right inside the pyramids if you wish, though your guide cannot accompany you (a limited number of tickets are available for the Great Pyramid—purchased on the day of your visit).
• In the evening, transfer to the station for the overnight sleeper train to Aswan (an upgrade to a flight ($89) is available on request)

Day 3: Tour of Philae Temple in Aswan
• Upon arrival in Aswan, transfer to your hotel overlooking the Nile
• Today, you'll explore Aswan itself, a melting pot of African and Middle Eastern cultures. Wander through the busy markets, walk up and down the Corniche, and and if you wish, you could also visit the Nubian Museum.
• Our tours in Aswan start this afternoon with a visit the Temple of Philae, a beautiful island complex dedicated to Isis and reclaimed from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, which we reach by a scenic boat ride. We also stop to visit the huge Aswan Dam. The rest of the day is free.

Day 4: Nile Felucca Cruise
• Spend the morning at your leisure or take an option to visit the temples built by Ramses II at the amazing UNESCO world heritage site of Abu Simbel ($99)
• At lunchtime, board the traditional Nile felucca to enjoy an afternoon sailing down the Nile
• This evening, you'll sleep on the deck of the boat tonight (mattresses, blankets and mosquito nets provided). A hotel upgrade is available if you would prefer some extra comfort in place of the felucca (from $69).
Overnight onboard the felucca; breakfast, lunch, and dinner included

Day 5: Kom Ombo, Edfu Temples, and Karnak Temple in Luxor
• Eat breakfast on-board and visit the nearby temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu before driving north to Luxor
• After lunch, tour the huge temple complex at Karnak, once the religious centre of Thebes and Upper Egypt
• Later this evening, take a walking tour of the smaller Luxor Temple which is right in the middle of town and beautifully lit up at night
Overnight at Sonesta St. George or Steigenberger Nile Palace; breakfast included

Day 6: Luxor West Bank tour and Hurghada
• Early this morning, cross the Nile to begin your tour of Luxor's West Bank; the tour includes several of these Pharaonic tombs, as well as the temples of Queen Hatchepsut and Medinat Habu, and the huge Colossi of Memnon
• In the afternoon, drive to the Red Sea resort of Hurghada/Makadi Bay. Your stay here includes all meals, soft drinks, and snacks but not alcoholic beverages.

Day 7: Red Sea at Hurghada
• Today is for you to relax and enjoy your time by the Red Sea
• Hurghada is world-famous for its scuba diving and snorkelling and the rich Red Sea marine life here attracts divers from all over the world
• For an additional fee, you can take other adventurous activities available include wind surfing and kite surfing, glass bottomed submarines, quad biking, camel rides, and sea fishing trips
Overnight at Jaz Oasis Makadi Bay or similar; breakfast, lunch, and dinner included, plus all soft drinks and snacks

Day 8: Fly to Cairo
• Fly back to Cairo this morning and spend the rest of the day at your leisure
• For an additional fee, you can take an optional additional tour, including a city tour or a visit to the outskirts of Cairo to see the early pyramids at Saqqara and Dashour
Overnight at Meridien Pyramids or similar; breakfast included

Day 9: Free Time in Cairo and Fly Home
• Spend some time today at your leisure, enjoying some last-minute sightseeing or shopping before transferring to the airport
• If you have an evening flight departure, then the Cairo City Tour and Saqqara, Dashour & Memphis tours are available for an additional fee
