Have a basic idea of how you wish to use your outdoor living space and be open to suggestions. I was very happy with the amount of time and detail the landscape architect put into a design plan. I plan to implement it over time (and may make a few changes); it's great to have a vision on paper to start with. There was no sales pressure, which I appreciated...Thanks!
