Very interesting but small museum. Don't miss the guided tour because it's the highlight of this place. Our guide, Tom Tomson, was amazing. His knowledge of Colorado mining and the mining industry in general was incredible. Wish the blacksmith shop was operating.

What a terrific find! This really is all about the history of mining. If you go for the tour it's even extra awesome. They actually have working steam machines that they show you how they work (now with compressed air) our tour guide was a geologist by trade and had a passion for this place which made our tour extra special.

The guided tour was excellent. The machines were all functional and it was fun to see how they worked. The stories made the history come to life, and my niece loved panning for gold. Just from hiking in Colorado and seeing mines along the way, I had several questions about why things were done a certain way. The museum & tour answered many of those questions and now it all makes more sense.
