First thing I noticed was the atmosphere, which was a small but cozy setting of simple tables and chairs, with real sun baked brick for walls, wooden slat flooring, and an interesting skylight. There is a lot of history behind how it became a cafe beginning as a doctor's office, then a shoe cobbler shop. It is explained on the back of the menu as well as offered by the waitress. The only waitress, and all that was needed, was very polite and gave each table her undivided attention without hovering. She had a robust pleasant and real laugh that did not interfere with her job. The food was hot and fresh, had not been sitting under a heat lamp. The only cook, again, all that was needed, doubled as a busboy and was equally as pleasant. The floors were impeccably clean, there was a chalkboard listing all the styles and flavors of specialty coffees and teas from their coffee bar.
