There was a lot of information given and a lot of hands on experiences. We spent about 4 hours there and took a break for supper and check into our hotel and then went back for an evening of looking through the telescopes at various stars and the moon. It was awesome.

If astronomy is your interest, the Lowell Observatory is the place to go. Many different and interesting programs for visitors. Tonight most telescopes were notavailable for viewing stars because of winds. The two scopes outwere pointed at Pleiades (Seven Sisters) and the Orion Nebula. Toured the Clark telescope and the Pluto Discovery (Camera) telescope. Just fascinating. Highly recommened. Just pay attention to weather. If windy, not much viewing through telescopes. If cold, wear winter clothing.

Nice indoor /outdoor walk through space history museum. Telescopes to look through at the top open deck were great. You have to see this place for yourself!

I give Lowell Observatory a 5 star rating! This is a great family outing with fantastic tours and museums about the discovery of Pluto in 1930 as well as historical accounts of the study of Mars and the Sun. Very cool to see all the star-gazing instruments from those times as well!
