We visited this museum from a cruise ship. It was an easy 10 to 15 minute walk along the harbor's paved walkway. Several shops along the way. Museum is well worth the visit and do take in the optional film re exploring the Titanic.

kids loved it, enjoyed all the things they say and learned. We then went to Fairview cemetery to see Titanic graves. Very educational.

Allow at least 3 - 4 hours or even more time. Best RMS Titanic exhibits we have ever seen (and we visited the Titanic Museum in Belfast this past September 2014) .. it was very good but the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic has actual Titanic artifacts and such....

Nice walk on a Boardwalk from the cruise terminal to the Museum. Shops and eating places along the way. Excellent history of shipping in the area with many interesting displays. Titanic exhibit is not extensive but a film on the dive to the Titanic was worth the extra $2.50 above the admission price.

If you are going to look at everything while trying to comprehend history behind each showcase, allow yourself more time than we allowed ourselves during the visit, my wife and I entered the museum at 1.30 pm and by closing time we still had sections to visit. At least 6 hours is required to fully visit the museum. I enjoyed the WWII convoy history as my father was in the Navy on convoy escort destroyers (Arthabascan) and others. Because of trauma he never spoke about this period, the museum allowed me to better comprehend what he survived.

A great little trip through the past with the war of 1812 display and the "Acadia" being high points. The only disappointment was that the guides were to thinly spread that day to allow for a tour of below decks.
