Colorado State Fair, Pueblo4.081176 reviewsAbout Colorado State Fair
It all started way back in 1869, before Colorado was even a state. A crowd of about 2,000 came down to what is now considered the city of Pueblo for a horse exhibition. From then on, the Colorado State Fair was a famous annual event, only ever skipping one year, when the fairgrounds played host to the Army National Guard during World War I.
Nowadays, the fair is one of the largest summertime events in the state. A large parade kickstarts this famous event followed by days of horse and cattle shows and informative clinics as well as additional livestock and wildlife exhibits. There's even a 5K run and walk that allows participants to traverse the fairgrounds by foot. And live musical performances on alternating nights ensure attendees stick around after the sun sets.
