It was lots of fun, but beware. some of the seats are so old they bounce around. it might not be great for some people.
Plan to also eat there. It was the frosting on the cake. Temps in the 70's also was a plus.
It was great fun. The bus is uncomfortable. Bring water!!!
Enjoyed this excursion very much. Saw wild pigs, birds, turtles and gators. Flowers and plants were pointed out also along the route. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke clearly, answered questions and stopped often so everyone could see. The types of cattle and calves on the ranch were observed and their origins explained. We were taken to an enclosure housing a FL Panther, raised in captivity as a pet, living out his years in a sanctuary of safety and relative freedom to roam. There are other animals that can't be sent back to the wild, given sanctuary at Babcock Wilderness. One can see that the ranch cares about the ecology of SW FL. We were able to experience several types of environments native to FL, including swamp, without the noise of an airboat, in complete safety. Enjoyed the beauty in quiet very much!
The driver/tour guide was very personable and informative. There were many kids on the tour and they were having a great time.
My husband is 6'4" and he had a tight squeeze getting his long legs in the school bus seats. Other than that it was a great experience.
Great narrator!! The baby alligator was a plus🐊. We learned so much about the ecosystems, cypress swamp and the great Babcock family history. This should be on the"must do" list for southwest Florida!
Enjoyed the ride through the cypress swamp and learning about Florida's ecosystem.
Don't forget the bug spray. We LOVED the tour. We have already talked about returning and have told many of our friends. The tour guide was excellent. I think everyone that comes to Florida should go for the tour. It's so informative. It was really an enjoyable day!
Totally enjoyed the exposure to the history of the area as well as the various ecosystems within Babcock Ranch. The open bus allows you to feel part of the area. I particularly liked the slough, filled with alligators and birds, where we ran through the water that was over the road. I have taken this tour twice, and plan to come back. Bring a good camera, if you are a photo but like I am.
My kids loved and the weather was perfect...
