John and Jerry, the brewers at 3rd Wave Brewing Co. take a hands-on approach to every step of the beer-making process. The duo gets thoroughly in the mix, whether that means growing the hops, designing such tastebud-pleasing brews as their coffee and cream stout, or even cleaning and maintaining the kegs.

That level of involvement extends to the bartenders. In the beach-themed bar, the staff tops pint glasses with biting black IPAs and boysenberry wheat brews made with natural fruit. They even take folks on tours of the brewery to give a more in-depth look at how the beers are brewed. If you come on just the right day, you'll be able to sample a small batch brew that the staff just tapped. On top of all that, a food truck is available on the weekends to purchase food.
