I tried the fire brick last night and find that it does not give out big fires and twice we had to rotate the brick as the wood pulps are so dense, it just gives off smoke and embers.. Is there a special way to burn this right?

The "logs" are actually bricks. They don't burn without lighter fluid. They're not even as good as run-of-the-mill corner shop fire logs; neither in terms of heat, nor in terms of giving a 'bon fire' effect. I won't be buying these again!
