About Hungry Howies Pizza

Now under new management, Hungry Howie's Pizza on 81st street is one of more than 545 locations in 21 states. Though it's now one of the nation's largest pizza franchises, Hungry Howie's had modest beginnings. In 1973, Jim Hearn converted a small hamburger stand in Taylor into the first Hungry Howie's, a carryout and delivery pizzeria. But Hungry Howie's Pizza stood out from the competition with help from its selection of eight flavored crusts, such as Cajun, butter cheese, and ranch. Tons of toppings, plus other selections such as oven-baked subs, wings, and specialty Cajun and three-cheeser bread, makes for plenty of options for satisfying pizzeria meals.
