Highlights
Climb the highest peak on Oahu to spectacular views with the help of a local hiking guide.
About This Deal
There are many high peaks on Oahu but there can only be one highest peak and that's Mount Ka'ala. This epic adventure is off the beaten path in Waianae and only lightly trafficked. Ka'ala offers an extremely interesting journey with many terrain and ecosystem shifts. From a paved road to coffee forest, macadamia nut forest, strawberry guava forest, up a ridgeline with rope sections and light bouldering. You might even find fresh blackberries near the top! For your effort, on a clear day you may be rewarded with magnificent views of the west side, the north shore, and Honolulu. Truly an unforgettable experience. One of the island's hidden gems, Mount Ka'ala is a must do for adventure seekers on Oahu. Who doesn't want to say they bagged the highest peak?
While I've never had a problem, the parking lot at the Ka'ala trailhead is notorious for theft and damage to cars. To protect your vehicle we can meet at Pokai Bay, a local, safe, family friendly beach and I will drive you to the trailhead. No extra cost! Bring swimwear for our return to the beach.

About Oahu Hiking Adventures
That moment when your site line clears the summit and a breathtaking view of the valley below fills your vision is a transformational experience that puts all of life’s struggles into perspective. No matter what you’ve gone through, you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be right now. Our mission with Oahu Hiking Adventures is to bring this unforgettable experience to as many people as we can. Are you ready to get off the beaten path, discover secret hidden gems, behold magnificent views, and create unforgettable memories? Let’s begin. Aloha! My name is Travis Woo. I am a hiking adventurer and multidisciplinary athlete with a focus on unforgettable memories, long term health, and injury prevention. I’ve been exploring the nooks and crannies of Oahu’s valleys, ridges, and mountains since 2017 and I’m excited to share them with you. I believe that the most memorable experiences have an element of risk and danger, and that a certain amount of discomfort is even desirable. At the same time, the number one goal of every expedition is to make it back with no injuries among the party. After a childhood classmate’s father died as an expedition guide in the 1996 Everest disaster, I grew up with a sense of caution and respect for the mountains. As you know, most mountain injuries occur during the descent, and I have a unique perspective on descending that has been featured on TEDx which will help you return safely on every descent for the rest of your long, healthy life. My focus as an adventure guide is giving you a transformational experience by taking you on challenging, lightly trafficked, unknown, secret, and even unofficial trails on Oahu. I know the most interesting hikes that provide the best views and I also know hikes to breathtaking view points that few people have seen. Join me for an adventure you won’t forget. Also, I’ll bring snacks
