The proprietors behind TIABI Coffee & Waffle Bar—short for "To Inspire and Be Inspired"—met in 2007 as journalism majors at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. It didn't take long for the duo to forsake the smell of ink for the scent of fresh coffee and made-from-scratch waffles, which immediately greets visitors as they step into the eatery. A bulk of those housemade waffles are playfully shaped like hashtags, which cooks then top with nutella and sliced almonds or use to sandwich slices of turkey sausage. To complement each savory or sweet treat, sip on imported coffees, which are incorporated into specialties such as cake-flavored iced coffee.

Of course, TIABI's selection isn't limited to the restaurant's two namesakes. Cooks assemble sandwiches with other fixings such as chicken breast and agave soy dressing, while baristas concoct tea blends with flavors such as organic green and pineapple. Guests dine amid a soothing atmosphere of polished hardwoods, walls adorned with local art, and comfy chairs made from leather and actual clouds.
