The Destination
Kent is a country hamlet nestled in the hills of northwestern Connecticut on the border with New York. This quintessential rural town is a place where historic clapboard houses have acres of land to themselves, covered bridges span the pebbly creeks, and Main Street's shops serve more locals than tourists. In the summertime, folks visit the farm stands and markets for fresh produce, eggs, and jams, while winter dustings call for cross-country skis and sleds. The Housatonic River cuts through the middle of town, then branches off to create the must-see cascades of Kent Falls State Park.

The Digs
The Starbuck Inn sits on a quiet stretch of North Main Street in Kent. It received a full renovation in 2003, but retains that Old American charm reminiscent of the country inns of yesteryear. Inside, your guest room is anchored by a rich wooden armoire, custom-built for the Starbuck. Ultra-soft Frette towels stock your private bathroom, and windows offer views of the sprawling lawn. Every morning, you'll sit down to a full breakfast made with local, farm-fresh eggs and herbs from the garden. And in the afternoon, high tea features a variety of local delights to help welcome you to the inn.
