Extremely lovely in a retro and cheeky way. The garden paths that lead you around the Parker's grounds are like being in a enchanting labyrinth with little surprises like hammocks, intimate fire pits, and croquet hidden within. Very enchanting. I only wish there were more seats to be had by the main pool area. it was definitely competitive to find a spot there. Also, the coffee was nice and strong. Total plus. Aside from my shower being broken(which was a total bummer) I had an amazing time and would come back in a heartbeat.
pros: incredibly relaxing, intimate, amazing pool, great design, and very friendly staff. The vibe is chilled out and cool. It was just the little getaway I was looking for.
cons: The only disappointment was that my shower was broken. Otherwise I had a great time.

Hotel is iconic. Grounds are amazingly beautiful. However, rooms are in need of a bathroom upgrade (ESP shower). Customer service is tremendously lacking. Pervailing attitude is "we are busy, call back later" in matters of customer service. Could and should be so much better.
pros: The hotel common grounds are the best part.
cons: The room we were put in was missing furniture. Hotel staff unwilling to replace it. Bathroom fixtures are greatly outdated, ESP shower. Seemed very strange to have a pretty sub par mini fridge in the room.

This hotel was way over rated. The level of service we received was subpar. Upon checkin we were informed the room would be ready shortly they were just inspecting it. 2 hours later the room was ready, in the mean time we went to the restaurant to have lunch and had poor service. We attempted to get reservations for dinner at the hotel, but is was booked solid and they didn't accept walk-ins. The whole reason we came to the hotel was to sit by the pool, but one of the pools were under construction making the main pool so crowded that we couldn't find a place to sit. We were in Palm Springs (112 degrees), the only reason to go is to sit by the pool and instead we had to sit in our room until 5PM when the pool became less crowded! When we finally sat by the pool we couldn't get any one to serve us. We finally went to the bar and ordered and they explained they would bring it to us, yet again they never brought our drinks! One of the main reasons for staying in this hotel is for the cool decor. We were pretty disappointed, the room felt as if it were decorated by one of those TLC quick design shows on a budget. At quick glance it was nice but then you start looking at the details (the carpet was pulling up, the ceiling wallpaper was peeling) and it felt as if it was a converted motel. There also was no balcony, which wouldn't have been a big deal if I was able to sit by the pool side and the view from the window was the backlot, where you saw ladders and dumpsters etc.
pros: pretty outdoor grounds on the property and valet was nice
cons: poor service and one pool was closed making other pool to crowded we couldn't sit anywhere
